2025

Child & Youth Programs (CYP) provides childcare and youth services designed to support Marine and DoD families while helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

Following an end-of-year funding allocation, CYP sought to refresh its marketing materials with a more friendly, inviting, and cohesive visual presence. The project introduced #ONECYP as a unifying creative direction, helping communicate that the program's various services operate as one connected organization rather than separate entities.

Summary

I developed a refreshed visual direction for #ONECYP and translated it across a suite of large-format marketing materials used throughout the installation, including feather flags, pop-up banners, tablecloths, and A-frames.

The goal was to create a system that felt approachable to families while maintaining enough visual consistency to establish recognition across different CYP locations, events, and recruitment opportunities.

Challenge

CYP offered multiple services supporting children and families, but its marketing materials could feel fragmented across different programs and touchpoints.

The challenge was to create a visual approach that:

• Unified the different CYP operations under one recognizable identity
• Communicated the idea of “One CYP” without erasing the individual services
• Felt friendly and welcoming to children and families
• Remained professional and appropriate for a military installation
• Worked effectively across large-format environmental graphics
• Supported both family-facing communication and employee recruitment, including hiring fairs

Solutions

I created a cohesive marketing system centered around #ONECYP, using consistent visual elements and messaging to connect the different CYP operations.

Unified Visual Direction
Developed a friendly, approachable aesthetic that brought the various CYP services together under one recognizable look.

#ONECYP Messaging
Used the #ONECYP concept as a central communication device to reinforce that Child & Youth Programs function as one connected organization serving Marine families.

Environmental Marketing
Designed large-format materials—including feather flags, pop-up banners, tablecloths, and A-frames—to create a consistent presence at events and high-traffic areas.

Recruitment Materials
Adapted the visual system for hiring fairs and recruitment opportunities, allowing CYP to communicate both its services to families and its opportunities to prospective employees.

Scalable Design System
Created a flexible approach that could be applied across multiple physical touchpoints while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
